Sophie Rees creates paintings from natural forms and patterns. Pattern obscuring, decorating, repeating, accidental and expressively. Pattern as pattern and pattern as content. Central to the work is a passion for botanicals, using the contents from her garden and locally foraged specimens as inspiration for the paintings.
