Hi, I

I’m a product designer creating thoughtful digital products, internal tools, and design systems with a focus on clarity, usability, and strong visual craft.

Hello! I’m Joel. There’s a thousand directions one could take when writing an introduction on a personal site like this. Are you here professionally? Welcome! You may be interested in my work: I’m a software and systems engineer working on remote sensing systems and data processing pipelines. Most of my time is in a Python IDE, but I touch containerization and orchestration systems, networking (it’s always DNS!) and monitoring solutions on the regular. I like tackling wide problems.

Chicago/Minneapolis photographer and filmmaker specializing in weddings, portraits, events, and documentary work. Based in the Twin Cities, available worldwide. Now booking 2026 and 2027.
